We don’t do fast fashion - we make hats that survive the wash, the winter, and the world ending
Turning raw fleece into awesome hats since 2009!
Each piece is handmade and machine sewn in our Atlanta sewing studio, made to outlast fast fashion.
Washable, sensory friendly, and designed for everyday life, HATCORE stays intentionally small and women-owned.
This is slow fashion done right: no factories, no shortcuts, and no bowing to corporate overlords.
By keeping production in house and every hat made to order, HATCORE puts quality, longevity, and individuality above disposable trends.

Our Origin Story
HATCORE was born out of a tragic hat purchase at Anime Weekend Atlanta. Harper came home with a cheap fleece beanie that looked cute enough – until real life hit. One round in the washing machine (the cat hair build up was insane) and the design started peeling off, leaving a sad, balding hat that didn’t deserve a spot on her wardrobe.
“I can do better,” she said – and she meant it.
She spent most of 2008 in a one-woman crash course in design and construction. Nights were spent testing fleece weights, experimenting with stretch densities, and pushing a hand-me-down sewing machine to its limits. Friends became unwilling product testers, cats became fabric quality inspectors, and Harper developed an obsession with sourcing materials that could survive both a spin cycle and a social life.
By 2009, she had created her first piece: a fleece cat-ear hat that was not only cute, but tough enough to take a beating. What started as that single hat has grown into HATCORE – a line of made-to-order beanies that are cozy, durable, and unapologetically built to last.
Our values
Born from spite and stitched with rebellion, HATCORE is slow fashion for people who actually give a shit about quality and comfort.
- Anti–Fast Fashion – No mass production, no shortcuts, no landfill fodder
- Women-Owned – Independently owned, operated, and stitched together by a small team who refuses to sell out to the corporate overlords
- Sensory-Friendly – Soft anti-pill fleece, reinforced seams, and cozy construction made for people who actually care how fabric feels on their skin
